Meet Olivier and Vira

For years, I worked jobs that I thought would fulfill me. I was a brand consultant, creative director, commercial director, I did a stint in restaurant development, then went back to advertising. But fulfillment kept slipping farther away from me.

I hit rock bottom in my mid-30s and was left with one choice: To continue doing miserable, well-paid work (the golden handcuffs are real), or end my life… I decided to pull the plug on the life I led before. I left everything behind and went on a long journey to find out what I could do differently. I found the answer where I hadn’t looked before: in nature but, mostly importantly, within myself. Since then, I have helped hundreds of wonderful people skip the pain and agony of years of unfulfilling work and fruitless self-search by getting them on the path toward Happy Work.

I am fortunate enough to do Happy Work with my partner, Vira Magallanes-Egli, who helps our Spanish speaking clients get on their journey to Happy Work.

Hi, I'm Olivier

Hi, I'm Vira

As a woman, it is so easy to bury and ignore your potential and desires because you preoccupy yourself with caring for others and chase jobs that give you status and money, even if they are unfulfilling.

You know the familiar story- a great-paying job, a relationship that you’re in to avoid being alone, fun vacations, but sleepless nights and stressful work days. I lived for the weekend instead of living for my happiness. One random day on the way to the gym, I finally broke down because I couldn’t take it anymore… I hated my life and, worst of all, I hated myself. So, I made the decision then and there to love myself and choose happiness, above all else.

I love being able to help others find their Happy Work.

If I learned anything during my many years as a numb and bored-out-of-my-mind corporate professional, it is that purpose has everything to do with understanding your potential and actually doing something about it. As a woman, it is so easy to bury and ignore your potential, your desires, your purpose because you preoccupy yourself with caring for others, or chase job titles that give you status and money, but they never really give you fulfillment.

You know the familiar story- the fancy job, cool apartment, lavish vacations… I had all that, but with it came years of sleepless nights and tearful lunch breaks doing a job I hated. I lived for the weekend instead of living for my happiness. One day, on my way to the gym, I finally broke down. I couldn’t take it anymore. I made the decision then and there to finally put myself first and use my potential to encourage others to do happy and fulfilling work.

Our Inspiration

In our noisy world, self-ownership is sparse. We are confronted by so many concepts and seek success and growth in all the wrong places. Our best teacher is one we tend to ignore: Nature. Nothing is more successful, more clear and more focused than a tree. There is no confusion, no distraction, no waste. Every action is aligned with a central purpose. In other words: self-ownership runs very deep in a tree. If we follow this basic principle, clarity of potential, purpose and focus on actions naturally emerge, and with it the impactful, fulfilling work we all crave.
